Creating Points-of-Interest is an easy-to-follow 3-step process. Click Create Point-of-Interest to begin.
Step 1 - Point Info
Step 2 - Point Action
Define what happens or is displayed when the POI is selected
If Show Info Panel is selected the following elements can be used
Step 3 - Positioning
There are several options of placing or positioning POIs on the Map.
Option 1 - Display POI by using an Icon
Option 2 - Display POI by Creating a Custom Icon
Using one of 5 easy-to-use Illustrative Tools you can define or draw an area or line on the map to display the POI on the user interface.
Rectangle Tool & Ellipse Tool - precisely place a rectangle or ellipse over an area on the map to show a POI location; any size and orientation is possible.
Polygon Tool and Curved Polygon Tool - precisely draw around any shape to show a POI location
Wayfinder Tool - Draw lines over the map to show POIs like routes, trails, paths - with or without arrows on either end of the line.
You can choose and set Colors and Opacity Levels for Line and Fill on Rectangles, Ellipses and Polygon shapes, and for Lines using the Wayfinder tool. There are also two states (and for each you can apply colors and opacity) "on display" and "on rollover"
Option 3 - Display POI by Uploading a Layer
In some cases you want the total creative control that can be achieved by displaying layers. Create a layer over your original map illustration in Adobe Illustrator and export it as a flash .swf file - then import this Layer file to display the POI on the map interface.
