There are several methods for Displaying Points of Interest

Display a POI using an Icon (Default or Unique)

• MicroMaps comes pre-installed with 6 "default" icons of different colors
• Upload your own Icons
• Icons can be assigned (by default) by Category or Sub-Category
• Unique Icons can be used on a POI by POI basis

Display a POI using a Custom Icon (Illustrative Tools)
In some cases a typical Icon just won't do, so we provide 5 tools which allow you to easily create "Custom Icons" to display a POI in a compelling way.

• Rectangle Tool & Ellipse Tool - precisely place a rectangle or ellipse over an area on the map to show a POI location, any size and orientation is possible.

• Polygon Tool and Curved Polygon Tool - precisely draw around any shape to show a POI location.

• Wayfinder Tool - Draw lines over the map to show POIs like routes, trails, paths - with or without arrows on either end of the line.

You can choose and set Colors and Opacity Levels for Line and Fill on Rectangles, Ellipses, two types of Polygon shapes and Lines using the Wayfinder tool. There are also two "states"; on Display and on Rollover (and for each you can apply line & fill colors and opacity levels)

Display a POI using a Layer
Any illustrative element can be superimposed as a layer over the map / illustration to depict a Point-of-Interest.

Display a Label for any type of POI

• Label displays the POI name
• Label set to OFF = label does not display by default but will appear on mouse rollover of POI Icon
• Label set to ON = label will display by default - pointing to POI icon, Area or Layer
